November 29th is officially #GivingTuesday, and The Heights Players is Brooklyn’s longest-running theatre company that is entirely run and operated by volunteers. Over the past six decades, we have produced hundreds of productions and welcomed thousands of audience members through our doors at 26 Willow Place. We have been providing a home for community performers of all types to the delight of audiences of all ages for 67 seasons. We present nine shows a year, giving hundreds of performers, designers, directors, technicians and theater lovers of all descriptions the chance to inspire and challenge the audience.
Not only have we made people laugh and cry, but we have created a safe space for artists to express themselves freely and openly. We continue to make strides to diversify our casting and production choices in an effort to respond to the need for more equity and inclusion throughout the entire theatre industry - all the while not forgetting our mission to uplift the greater community.
However, we have much more work to do. In the upcoming years, our goals include launching an internship program for up-and-coming theatre artists, expanding our reach to various neighborhoods in Brooklyn, and continuing to serve our community and surrounding neighborhood.\
